About the Artist
Suswana Chatterjee is a contemporary texture artist from East Bay, California. She specializes in modern abstracts and semi abstracts. Her unconventional style of painting without a paint brush, using tools such as palette knives, trowels, scrapers, sponges and spatula allows her to build layers, texture and contrast into each of her pieces. Combining this with her passion for incorporating metallic colors, foil, mirror shards, sand, charcoal, pumice into her work and the use of acrylic, oil paints and solid pigments has enabled her to develop a unique approach which looks sculptural. A big believer of positivity and art therapy, the process of painting is a form of meditation to her. Each of her abstracts resonates this energy which she tries to share with her customers when she meets them at art shows.
